Helm El-Noor Initiative’s Launching Concert, in Cairo

The goal of Helm El-Noor’s events was: presenting the Initiative for artists, media and talented youth. The first event of the Initiative was held at Ewart’s Memorial hall, at the American University in Cairo (AUC); on Friday, November 7th, 2014.

Cairo Celebration Choir (CCC) conducted by maestro Nayer Nagui; poets Amin and Ahmed Haddad and NUT Band for contemporary dance participated in the launching Concert.

The Initiative was presented by: the novelist Dr. Sahar Al-Moogy; maestro Nayer Nagui; Mr. Yasser Grab; and Essam Fayez, the Initiative founder. The Concert was attended by some of the art and media symbols, as well as representatives of some Egyptian developmental organizations.

The performance presented by the Cairo Celebration Choir was named: “Songs in Arabic”; it is a group of songs written by Sayed Darwish, in a contemporary distribution.  During the Concert, Maestro Nair Nagui said that the reason behind choosing such songs to accompany the Helm Elnoor Initiative during all events in the different governorates is that they symbolize Sayed Darwish’s dream, if he could fulfil it; and the dream was born to light. Sayed Darwish called such songs “A Dream of light”.
