Under “I will enlighten the world through my art”, the campaign of Helm Elnoor Initiative for developing the community of Assiut through art, as well as calling its youth to join and participate in the enlightening of their communities with art, was launched on Friday, March 6th, 2015.
The Event was carried out by Helm Elnoor Initiative team, under the sponsorship of Assiut governorate; thus being the third event to be held in Assiut. A specialized artist from Cairo and 5 artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts in El-Minia participated with them. Some volunteer youth participated with Helm Elnoor team.
Four front walls were chosen to achieve the paintings on the. They were the front wall of: Franciscan Private Preparatory School; Do Re Mi. Center for music; Wamda Bookshop; and one of the public housing buildings in El-Riad Street.
People from the neighborhood areas for the walls to be painted were interactive, and some of the youth and children of the area participated in coloring and preparing the chosen walls. They also liked the idea; and they even suggested cleaning and painting one of the walls beside a garbage dump; which was burnt. And this is the story of “The Wall of Light” which will soon, be posted with pictures.
The beginning of this event coincided with an event on Facebook, inviting all the talented youth to draw their balconies with shapes of different talents along with writing the phrase of “I will enlighten the world with my art”, in order to encourage youth to use their art to communicate with their society and enlighten it.
